If-Clause

แบบที่ 1 If + Present Simple, Present Simple

วิธีใช้ ใช้กับเหคุการณ์ที่เป็นความจริง เช่น

If you heat water, it boils. (ถ้าคุณต้มน้ำ น้ำก็เดือด)

แบบที่ 2 If + Present Simple, Will + V1 

วิธีใช้ ใช้กับเหคุการณ์ที่เป็นเหตุเป็นผลซึ่งกันและกัน เช่น

If I have enough money, I will go to Japan. (ถ้าฉันมีเงิน ฉันจะไปญี่ปุ่น)

แบบที่ 3 If + Past Simple, would + V1 (would แปลว่า น่าจะ) (Past Simple à V2)

วิธีใช้ ใช้กับเหคุการณ์ที่ตรงข้ามความจริงในปัจจุบัน หรือ อนาคต เช่น

If I knew her name, I would tell you. (ถ้าฉันรู้ชื่อเธอ ฉันก็น่าจะบอกคุณ) [จริงๆ แล้วไม่รู้จักชื่อเธอ]

แบบที่ 4 If + Past perfect, would have + V3 (Past perfect -> Had + V3)

วิธีใช้ ใช้กับเหคุการณ์ที่ตรงข้ามความจริงในอดีต เช่น

If you had worked harder, you would have passed your exam.  (ถ้าคุณขยันให้มากกว่านี้ คุณก็น่าจะสอบผ่าน) [จริงๆ แล้วสอบตกไปแล้ว] อ่านเพิ่มเติม

1. Future Simple ( S.+will/shall+V.1)
